Organisations for children/young people

The Little Badgers Parent and Toddler group meets every Friday in term time in Selattyn school hall from 9 – 10:30am.

If you wish to make a donation towards the work done in the community for children/young people, please make cheques payable to St Mary Selattyn Community worker project and send them to Miss Betty Shaw, Oak Lea, City Lane, Middle Hengoed SY10 7ET. Gift aid forms can be downloaded from the Lichfield diocesan website using this link: http://www.lichfield.anglican.org/assets/downloads/Departments/finance/giftaid/Gift%20Aid%20Declaration.pdf

There are usually additional activities or services for children and young people at Christmas, Easter, and on other special occasions.

Selattyn CE Primary school

This is just around the corner from the church. It has a good relationship with the church and many school events take place within it. Follow this link to their web site: Selattyn CE Primary School

Organisations for parents/families

Mothers’ union: The Mothers’ union (MU) is a world-wide organisation which exists to promote and strengthen family life and Christian marriage. Details of its history and aims can be found on its website. Selattyn members meet in members own homes. Contact Mrs Robbie Reynolds on robbie.reynolds1@btinternet.com for further details.

Organisations concerned with deepening Christian faith

There are opportunities to join in events in the neighbouring parish of Gobowen. There is usually a Study course during Lent and sometimes groups at other times studying a particular theme. Additionally there are courses run on a deanery basis (i.e. the Oswestry and district area) which serve a number of churches.
